Men's Soccer Joao Delgado Named All-American
For the first time since 2015, Mercer Men’s Soccer has an NJCAA All-American. Sophomore Joao Delgado (Sao Paolo, Brazil/Dr. Alfredo Cardoso) earned Second Team NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) Division II All-American Honors.
Delgado was named the Region 19 Player of the Year and helped °®½´ÊÓƵ win the Region 19 Championship and Northeast District Championship. Mercer also advanced to the 2024 NJCAA National Tournament for the first time since 2017.
Delgado was part of a strong offense that scored 84 goals this season, sixth most in the nation. The forward had seven goals and three assists in fifteen games and had a .875 shooting percentage.
