In honor of Mercer baseball’s final home game on May 2nd, we will look at the team’s sophomore players and their achievements during their time at °®½´ÊÓƵ. 

Outfielder Torin McKenzie (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) has been one of the Vikings top hitters the past two seasons.  In the 2023 season, McKenzie hit .326 with a .468 slugging percentage.  McKenzie had 46 hits, 23 RBIs, 10 doubles and scored 32 runs in 42 games.  In 2024, McKenzie is batting .376 with a .534 slugging percentage.  McKenzie has 50 hits, 32 RBIs, 9 doubles and has scored 42 runs through 40 games.  McKenzie is a Business Administration major.  McKenzie earned All-Region and All-Conference All-Academic honors for the Fall 2023 semester.

Infielder Joe Gmitter (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) has also been one of the Vikings top hitters the past two seasons.  In 2023, Gmitter, hit .328 with a .534 slugging percentage.  Gmitter has a .354 batting average in the 2024 season with 45 hits, 45 RBIs, 32 runs and 8 doubles.  Gmitter also has a .919 fielding percentage through 38 games.  Gmitter is a Business Administration major.

Outfielder Tyler Gonzalez (East Hartford, CT/Cheshire Academy) had 20 hits with 17 RBIs and 6 doubles in 24 games while batting .225 in the 2023 season.  In the 2024 season, Gonzalez has 15 hits, 12 RBIs and 7 doubles in 12 games.  Gonzalaez is batting .224 this spring and has a .963 fielding percentage.  Gonzalez is a Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement major.  Gonzalez has earned All-Region and All-Conference All-Academic honors in the Fall 2022 and Fall 2023 semesters.

 eFirst baseman Wyatt Baker (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) was a member of the 2022 Vikings team that reached the NJCAA World Series.  For the 2024 season, Baker is batting .329 with a .727 slugging percentage and .533 on base percentage.  Baker is a Criminal Justice/Corrections major.  Baker earned All-Region and All-Conference All-Academic honors in the Spring 2023 semester.

Outfielder Andrew Glatt (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown HS) was also a member of the 2022 Vikings team that reached the NJCAA World Series.  In the 2022 season, Glatt had a .357 batting average with a .536 slugging percentage and .419 on base percentage in 13 games.  In the 2024 season, Glatt is batting .394 with a .727 slugging percentage and .533 on base percentage.  Glatt has a perfect fielding percentage this spring and has 13 hits, 13 RBIs and has scored 18 runs.  Glatt is a Business Administration major.

Pitcher Ryan Conover (Hamilton, NJ/Notre Dame) was also on the 2022 Vikings World Series team.  During the 2022 season, Conover had 27 strikeouts in 38.2 innings pitched and a 4-0 record as a relief pitcher.  In the 2024 season, Conover has a 2.70 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched.  Conover has a 2-1 record with five saves on the 2024 season.  Conover is a Criminal Justice/Corrections major.

Pitcher Colin Bernhard (Florence, NJ/Florence Twp. Memorial) had 31 strikeouts in 41 innings pitched in the 2023 season.  This spring, Bernhard is 3-3 with a 3.82 ERA and has 22 strikeouts in 30.2 innings pitched.  Bernhard has also thrown two complete games for the Vikings this spring.  Bernhard is a Cybersecurity major.  Bernhard has earned All-Region and All-Conference All-Academic honors all three of his semesters at °®½´ÊÓƵ (Fall 2022, Spring 2023 and Fall 2023).

Pitcher and utility player Ryan Migogna (Ewing, NJ/Notre Dame) had 22 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched in the 2023 season and also batted .250.  In the 2024 season, Mignogna is 2-0 with 15 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched with a 2.57 ERA.  Mignogna is a Business Studies major.  Mignogna earned All-Conference All-Academic honors for the Fall 2023 semester.

Pitcher Vincent Mazzilli (Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown Regional) had nine strikeouts in eleven innings pitched in 2023.  In the 2024 season, Mazzilli has nine strikeouts in 7.2 innings pitched.  Mazzilli is a Business Administration major.  Mazzilli earned All-Region and All-Conference All-Academic honors in the Spring 2023 semester.

Pitcher Matteo Gravano (Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra) went 2-2 in the 2023 season with 29 strikeouts in 20.2 innings pitched.  Gravano has seen limited action in the 2024 season.  Gravano is a Business Administration major.  Gravano earned All-Region and All-Conference All-Academic honors for the Fall 2023 semester.

Pitcher Joe Dimino (Millstone, NJ/Allentown HS) had four strikeouts in 3.2 innings pitched this season before suffering an injury.  In the 2023 season, Dimino had ten strikeouts in 15 innings pitched with a 1-1 record.  Dimino is headed to University of North Florida next season.  Dimino is an Exercise Science major.  Dimino earned All-Region and All-Conference Academic honors for the Fall 2023 semester.
